Dental Implants

Rendering of jaw with dental implantMissing teeth can lead to serious complications later down the road, such as a misaligned bite, crooked teeth, and bone deterioration. Luckily, patients have more tooth replacement options than ever before. At Central Dental Specialists we specialize in several full-tooth restorations, including dental implants. Dental implants have revolutionized the way we treat tooth loss. Thanks to their many benefits, it's no wonder that implants have become the industry standard for tooth replacement. An implant-supported restoration is the next best thing to your natural teeth!

Single Tooth Replacement

dental implant is a small titanium post that we surgically embed below the gum tissue and into the jawbone. The implant post serves as the root component of a prosthesis. After a brief healing period the post is attached to an abutment, or support structure, that links the implant to the restoration. Thanks to technological advancements implants can be used to support a single crown as a single tooth replacement.

Multiple Tooth Replacement

Multiple missing teeth that are adjacent to one another usually require a bridge. A traditional bridge consists of two dental crowns linked together by a pontic, or false tooth. The two surrounding teeth are reshaped and capped with the crowns, allowing the appliance to “bridge” the gap created by your missing teeth. If you only have a few remaining teeth, or none at all, you may qualify for a full-arch restoration. This includes fixed complete bridges, implant-supported overdentures, and implant-retained dentures. We must extract any problem teeth before you receive your full-arch appliance.

All-on-4®

All-on-4 is a name brand treatment developed by Nobel Biocare, the industry-leading implant provider. As the name suggests, this technique allows us to place a fixed complete bridge that only relies on four implants. Other full-arch restorations can require up to eight implants or more, depending on the condition of your jawbone.

Overdentures

An overdenture is supported by a series of dental implants, while a traditional denture rests on the gums. A dental implant is a small titanium screw that we surgically embed into the jawbone. Through a process known as osseointegration, the implant screw fuses to the jawbone to form a powerful bond. This bond allows the implant to serve as the root component of the prosthesis, in this case, an overdenture.
